Blockbuster has a great promotion going on right now with their movies mailed program.  Their program is similar to Netflix in that you can get movies mailed to your home, you keep them as long as you want and send them back when you want another one.

The current offer is a 4 week trial of their highest level plan

which is normally $19.99 a month.  

The standard trial is only 2 weeks.

• Sign up for trial

Don't forget the trial is for 4 weeks.  After 4 weeks you will be charged $19.99 a month unless you change or cancel your membership prior to that time.  Be sure to make a note on your calendar so you know that date.

Free or Cheap Summer Movies...

During the summer, many theaters offer special movies for the kids for $1 or free.

My local theater just recently started offering one free movie a week, Weds. and Thurs. mornings.

The movies tend to be releases from earlier in the year, but still a great way to get out of the house and enjoy the theater to see some flicks you may have missed.

We went last week to KungFu Panda... this week is Mall Cop.

Check with your local theater locations to see if they are offering any summer discounts or free movies... you might just be able to plan a fun, inexpensive day out!

Try to skip out on the popcorn if you can... crazy prices!

$5 Movies at Participating Locations

This is a program from participating Kerasote Theaters in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Colorado, Wisconsin and Iowa.

If you are in one of these states you can sign up for this program and see movies that have been out for about 2 weeks for $5 each.

You can check online for qualifying movies in your theater before you go, or wait for their email on the listings for the week.

When you sign up they send you a membership card for you to use when you go to the theater. Whatever you do, don't forget your membership card or you'll end up paying full price.
