During the summer, many theaters offer special movies for the kids for $1 or free.
My local theater just recently started offering one free movie a week, Weds. and Thurs. mornings.
The movies tend to be releases from earlier in the year, but still a great way to get out of the house and enjoy the theater to see some flicks you may have missed.
We went last week to KungFu Panda... this week is Mall Cop.
Check with your local theater locations to see if they are offering any summer discounts or free movies... you might just be able to plan a fun, inexpensive day out!Try to skip out on the popcorn if you can... crazy prices!

We went to our local theatre to take advantage of this deal a couple of weeks ago. It is great! Some theatres also have popcorn and drinks for $1 at kids' movies this summer, unfortunately ours didn't...
We went today ... found out for the freebie movies you can get the kids add-on popcorn deal without buying the adult portions. Still $3 something for a kids drink and popcorn, but better than the normal $6 something if you just buy the kids separately.
