How to shop Kroger

Krogers sales vary by region, some regions even start their sales on different days of the week. When looking for deals online for your Kroger store, know your region, or at least have the ad in front of you to compare the deals.

You must sign up for a Kroger Rewards Card!
You will not get the promotional/sale prices without it!

Know your stores coupon policy.
Mine doubles 2 like coupons up to $.50 each.
Ex. A $.50 coupon is worth $1, and a $.55 coupon is worth $.55

Locally, if I have more than 2 like coupons that are $.50 or less, they may or may not double depending on the register and your cashier. Some cashiers double everything below the $.50 for me.

Watch the front of the add for "Door Busters"
Kroger often puts their best deals on the front page of their ad to get you in the door. Often times these are things you should be stocking up on when they are items you will use.

Use your coupons
Most Krogers accept newspaper, internet printed coupons, store coupons and eCoupons.

The great thing about eCoupons, besides the fact that you don't have to cut and sort them, is that you can use a paper coupon with them! If you have a paper coupon for a product and you have signed up for an eCoupon, both will come off of your total for a combination of savings.

Kroger also offers rewards towards fuel when you purchase a qualifying amount of groceries a month, Rx savings, and a Mastercard that gives you a percentage back on purchases.

Always check Coupons.com for great printable coupons before shopping. I will note that one of my local stores does not accept printable coupons, so be aware of your's stores coupon policies before you go.

I've admitted before that I often have trouble getting the Kroger deals posted in what I feel like is an adequate time frame.

I only post the deals I feel that are really worthy of pointing out so you don't have to sort through all the caous on the web, but if I'm not timely enough for you, there's somewhere you can look through the deals yourself for free.

The site is called Couponmom.com and you can find it here.

The Couponmom.com is a free site that puts the deals together for you. Kroger is a harder store to just surf the web for deals on because their sales are regional and you really have to look around to find someone posting the deals for your area.

You sign up for free, put in your zip code and click the tab to the left that says "Grocery Deals by State". You will have to sort through and find the best deals yourself.

I have not yet used the site myself, but because it can be hard to find the regional deals at Kroger I thought it might be a good resource.

It doesn't look like it lists catalina deals, but deals that use newspaper coupons seem to be there.

Kroger through 11/19....

Just got the Kroger ad for the week and I'm on it this week!! 

They're doing the Buy 10 select items get $5 off of your order again, seems to be the same items as last week, so if you missed it you still have time.  I must confess I used all my good coupons for the deal earlier this week.

Thanks Marcy!  Her other deals are different this week, but the Mega Event buys are the same.  

Be sure that you use the lowest price on a item (before calculating manufacturer coupons) to make sure you get to $50.  Clear as mud?

A little fact... did you know that the prepackaged frozen chicken is loaded with sodium!!!  It's so full of salt, yet we think since we're buying chicken we're feeding our family healthy foods.  Yuck!  Watch your labels!

Kroger is one that gets away from me sometimes.
Although I make a stop there almost weekly, the cycle here being Thurs. to Weds.
makes it somehow a little difficult sometimes for me to get it posted.

I found someone who seems to have it all together. Although her sale dates are different, it appears to be the same sale as mine in Indiana, just with different dates. You may find a few small differences, but looks very much like my ad.

You will notice she talks of e-coupon, which are coupons you can load to your Kroger card. You can sign up for them at the Kroger website (link here to the place to sign up) and Shortcuts.com. These coupons come off automatically when you use your card. You can use them along with paper coupons in the store. The Kroger site only allows 25 coupons on your card at any given time.
e-coupons do not double even if your store doubles manufacturer coupons.

I notice I have not done a Kroger how-to .... I'm on it!
